To the summit-day 2

We awoke to our Porter John at 6:30 am asking if we'd like coffee or tea. Nice touch- coffee tastes better up here. It was a cold night, and even though we didn't vent our tent and woke up with condensation on the tent walls and outer side of our sleeping bags, we were warm and slept fairly well. Had watery porridge and eggs and filled our camelbackd to prepare for our 7 hr day of climb to Shira 1 camp. Started to get to know our team better and learning the different personalities. Overall- an awesome group of people. Walked more through the rainforest and into the moorland. Seriously beautiful. Peaceful, quiet. Thought I'd want my music on, but really just wasn't into it- just chatted and spent time in my own head. Feel excited to be doing this. Still not on diamox- only 3 of us aren't on it- I'll see how my oxygen levels go- was 96 saturation this morn during medical check. Got to Shira 1 and porters again broke out in the Jambo song- so good. Grabbed Julie to dance and if you know Julie, you know how that went. I got a great video. Set up mats and bags- got organized and we all were exhausted. At 11,500 and starting to feel altitude. Are yummy soup and pasta. Hung out and chatted some with Ryan, Ben and John. Really nice guys. Excited to sleep. Shorter 4 hr day tomorrow , but supposedly a steep day. Everyone still going strong...
